Product Overview
Our PTFE Threaded Rods and Fasteners are precision-engineered components made from either Virgin PTFE or modified Filled PTFE compounds. They are designed for exceptional performance in demanding environments, offering outstanding chemical resistance, self-lubrication, and an ultra-wide operating temperature range. The integrated thread design enables quick and easy installation and connection, making them an ideal solution for critical applications.
Key Features & Benefits
Unmatched Chemical Resistance
- Exhibits exceptional chemical inertness, resisting nearly all strong acids, strong alkalis, and organic solvents, ensuring long-term reliability in corrosive media.
Ultra-Wide Temperature Range
- Capable of stable long-term operation within an extreme temperature range of -190°C to +260°C, with short-term exposure tolerance up to 300°C. Perfect for handling high-temperature exhaust gases, cryogenic fluids, and other severe conditions.
Superior Self-Lubrication
Excellent Electrical Insulation
- Offers high dielectric strength (typically 10 kV/mm), making it an superior insulating material for electrical applications.
Non-Stick Properties
- Inherent non-adhesive surface prevents the buildup and sticking of materials, ensuring easy cleaning and maintenance.
Easy Installation & Connection
- The designed threaded end allows for simple and secure attachment to handles, actuators, or other components, streamlining the assembly process.
Typical Applications
- Valve Stems, Mixer Shafts, Sealing Pistons: Ideal for use in corrosive environments across the chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
- Insulating Support Components: Excellent for electrical insulation applications.
- Bushings, Dowel Pins, & Fasteners: Perfect for parts requiring frequent disassembly and reassembly due to their low friction and durability.
Material Options
- Virgin PTFE: Provides the highest level of chemical purity and dielectric properties.
- Filled PTFE (Modified PTFE): Enhanced with materials like glass fiber, carbon fiber, or graphite to improve specific mechanical properties such as wear resistance, compressive strength, and anti-creep performance for more demanding applications.
Important Note
- Mechanical Strength & Pressure: Please note that PTFE has a relatively low mechanical strength and is susceptible to creep (cold flow). It is not recommended for high mechanical load-bearing or high-pressure applications. The actual usable pressure depends heavily on the specific part design, support method, and operating temperature, and is generally limited to low-pressure or ambient conditions.
